On the TV show House, what happened to Dr. House's leg?House(TV)...................?
He suffered an infarction while golfing, and wasn't diagnosed properly. By the time he realized what the problem was, the muscle in his leg had died and become necrotic. He had surgery to remove the dead muscle, which allowed them to avoid amputation, but he's in constant pain as a result.House(TV)...................?

A patient: ';What made you a cripple?';


House: ';I had an infarction.';


The patient: ';A heart attack?';


House: ';It's what happens when the blood flow is obstructed. If it's in the heart it's a heart attack. If it's in the lungs it's a pulmonary embolism. If it's in the brain it's a stroke. I had it in my thigh muscles.';


The patient: ';Wasn't there something they could do?';


House: ';There was plenty they could do, if they made the right diagnosis, but the only symptom was pain. Not many people get to experience muscle death.';


The patient: ';Did you think you were dying?';


House: ';I hoped I was dying.';
