Is House (TV series) medically correct?

Not knowing a lot about medicine, I've wondered if House makes sense. Do they base their possible diagnosis on the actual symptoms or are they just calling out different diseases that are completely unrelated to them? Doctors watching the series: Do you find it interesting? Do you arrive to the same conclusions they do and through the same process? Is the disease obvious or is it one that's very unlikely? Anyways, it'd be great to hear from some people in the field.

P.S: If it does make sense, does anyone know if they have a team of doctors working alongside with the screenwriter(s)?

Just curious. Is House (TV series) medically correct?
My husband is a doctor and he said that yes, the medicine makes sense. Obviously not too many doctors take House's politically incorrect approach. Most doctors actually follow the rules unlike him.

My husband always spoils the show for me because he figures out what is going on before the characters do... so yes, it does make sense.

Oh, and yes, I have heard that they use real doctors to do some of the screen writing, jsut like they use them in ER. A couple of my husband's collegues have been asked to help write an episode or two. My husband might get to too once he gets his promotion. Is House (TV series) medically correct?
I sure it is. Some guy wrote a book called 'The Medical Science of House MD.' Or something like that. And it says that everything on that show is possible. Some of the things are improbable, and most like wouldn't happen all at the same hospital, but they could happen. Also, I believe they have a doctor on hand while writing the script, for referance :)
Yes...they consult with real doctors....
i love dr house and they get real doctors to help with the screen writing
