Questions on medicine in ';House'; (TV series)?

If Dr. Eric Foreman is a Neurologist and Dr. Allison Cameron is an Immunologist and Dr. Robert Chase is Specialist in Intensive Care, how do they all come up with different suggestions not always related to their specialty? How do they know everything?

And do the actors have a medical degree or medical experience? Because they act so well...

Thanks in advance.Questions on medicine in ';House'; (TV series)?
Aside from having general medical education and knowledge, their characters may have had training on other specialties we viewers may not be aware of. It is not uncommon for real-life physicians to have multiple specialties.

As for having medical degrees, it's possible, but doubtful. My guess is they are just actors who excel at their craft.Questions on medicine in ';House'; (TV series)?
you may want to check out the Offical House message board/site- they have a couple subboards about Real Life Medicine/Diagnosis/Treatments--

the main site has actor/character bios and explanations of some of the medical terms

The actors on House are very good and it shows
Because their characters all went to medical school..they just have different specialties but still have knowledge dealing with most other areas of medicine...As far as the actors they don't have any medical experience...in fact most actors who play tv doctors admit they have no idea what their talking about while their saying their lines.....and they act that way then their doing their job of entertaining us every Tuesday night!
ofcourse they dont have medical degrees. they are actors. they just read the scripts people write the scripts and all they do is act them. they know everything because specialist tells the writers everything you need to know about a certain illness. doctors helps the writers write the script and tell them all the possibilities and all the symptoms of the illness.

i agree they are good actors specially house hahaha love that guy he's an *** but he's funny
Actually, if you pay close attention in the series, the characters usually come up with suggestions based upon their specialties or are asked to provide input based upon their specialties.

None of the information I came across suggests that any of the actors attended medical school or have a medical background. Hugh Laurie (House) studied archaeology and anthropology in college. Lisa Edelstein's (Cuddy) father is a pediatrician, but she studied theatre. Omar Epps (Foreman) studied performing arts also. Jennifer Morrison (Cameron) studied English and Theatre in college also.

They're not medical professionals, just good actors. They undoubtedly consult with medical professionals to write the script for the series.
I don't really know. Maybe, aside from their specialties, they have to know other things, maybe a little from the other's specialty. In working for House, I guess they have to know a little of everything.

Love the show by the way.
Cause it is a TV show and they take creative license and stretch reality. Although the actors, for sure, won't be in the medical field, they'll have a whole bank of researchers who will endearvor to give the show some realism
