stereo small fridge wood stove wood heat wood water heated also, how many batteries how many soler panels would I need (soler panels at 2x4 ) this is a house 1500 sq. feetSoler panels! how many I need for a average home about a 1500 foot house tv stereo 14 low energy lights 23 wat
I am going to do this soon. This is how it was calculated.

I was asked to provide details of kwh used over last three years. Then the orientation of the best roof area available with the pitch angle. The geographical latitude of the house and meteorological data provides solar power available to convert. The panels I have gone for are 1.5 sq metres each providing 200w peak/panel. They are polysilicium . This arrangement should give me 2800 watts peak or 16000kwh per year from 14 panels or 21 sq meters

Since there will be no batteries, the excess power is fed to the grid during daylight hours and grid power used at night.

There is a contract with the power company to buy my excess power at 5.5 * the supply rate, this being over 20 years.

Germany is way ahead of the rest of Europe with this system, but recent in my country.Soler panels! how many I need for a average home about a 1500 foot house tv stereo 14 low energy lights 23 wat
a lot you will need
I have checked on this for my home and it will run about $18.000.00 dollars for the panels, batteries, converters and inverters. You will need more than just enough to supply your home. You will have to build up enough energy in the day to supply your home at night. That is where the batteries come in. My home about 1700 sq. foot would need around 600 sq of panels to give me the necessary current. Panels work on Direct current and your inverter will change it to Alternating current for use in your home. I guess I am a few years away from installing this unless I come into some money. But good luck to you if you decide to go that way.
It's complicated and you need to know about batteries, converters, etc. Go to any of the popular suppliers. Most offer an inventory list. Also, get the magazine ';Home Power';.
it depends on many factors. how much power do you wish to harness? what are your exposures? what climate do you live in? solar power will not be sufficient for you total power, even with storage batteries. (cloudy days) i might suggest square footage of your roof as maximum amount of panels possible and based on that, see of what you are trying to accomplish is even possible.
